AC Shadows Introduces Bizarre Attack on Titan Event for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected crossover event that challenges conventional expectations, the game developer has revealed an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Disclosed
According to the formal announcement, "A strange encounter pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where hints of forbidden ceremonies and terrifying changes resonate through the obscurity." The plot features a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who charges the pair with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a secret sect.
The questline focuses on "peculiar tests and a terrifying foe" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Changes
The trailer showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview finishes with a striking sequence showing a character, likely the hostage, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Bonus Material
Players who finish the mission will receive an unique katana alongside multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

Third Free Story Content
This release also brings the game's newest complimentary story episode, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature techniques: Naoe reveals a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
