“It was unfortunate. It was essentially an exchange with our fans seated near me,” Jones stated during a Tuesday interview. “There was a large group of Cowboys fans—not New York fans, our fans. The entire stadium was brimming with excitement for the Dallas team.”
He further emphasized that the gesture was completely accidental, happening amid the excitement following the team’s last score. “I simply put up the wrong digit,” he noted. “The action was inadvertently performed. I’m not kidding. Should you call it accidental, you can. But it got corrected pretty quick.”

This is not the first time an NFL owner has been fined for inappropriate behavior. Previous cases involve:
