I'll dominate 'serious fighter' Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.
Briton Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" the American as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for next month's boxing match.
Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Attitude
"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will really want to hurt him. That's my intention."
Civil Exchange
In spite of those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather targeted former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.
Paul's Background
Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
However, the novice continues to be one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making massive financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.
"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters engaged in the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually happening.
